Open source

Built on other people's work.

Barium is a native app, but almost none of the hard cryptography in it is ours. These are the components it ships and the licenses they use.

The Matrix.org Foundation C.I.C. · Apache License 2.0

Barium builds this SDK from source with one modification: a patch adding encrypted to-device messaging APIs used for call key exchange. The modified file carries a change notice, as the licence requires.
